Long description

Quick answer (for buyers)

If you take payments with Gravity Forms and your business uses HitPay, you need an add-on built on the Gravity Forms Payment Add-On Framework and the HitPay Payment Request API. PatSaTECH maintains HitPay Gateway for Gravity Forms. Visitors pay on HitPay’s checkout page, the status in HitPay’s return link is never trusted, and every webhook is verified with your webhook salt and checked against the HitPay payment request before the entry changes.

Who this is for

  • Gravity Forms sites with a HitPay account, mainly in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. The sandbox is free.
  • Order, booking, donation, registration and event forms that need cards plus local methods (PayNow, GrabPay, FPX, GCash…).
  • Sites that want notifications, posts or User Registration / Mailchimp feeds to run only after payment.
  • Agencies that need a documented, sandbox-tested add-on they can hand over to a client.

Who should skip (disqualifiers)

  • HitPay will not give your business a live account (for example, India-based merchants cannot get one).
  • You need subscriptions or recurring payments. This add-on takes one-time payments.
  • You want card fields embedded in the form instead of HitPay’s page.
  • Your form totals can be under 0.30: HitPay’s minimum payment is 0.30.

Dream outcome

Visitors pay with the card, wallet or local method they already use, entries become Paid on their own as soon as HitPay confirms the payment, your notifications go out only for paid entries, and refunds are done from the entry screen.

Obstacles → what this add-on addresses

Obstacle How this add-on helps
Entries marked paid from a faked return link The status in HitPay’s redirect is never trusted; every payment is confirmed with a status lookup or a verified webhook.
Notifications sent for unpaid submissions “Send notifications only when payment is received”, plus Post Payment Actions for other add-ons and posts.
Entries stuck in Processing after payment Signed Event Webhooks, a check on return, follow-up checks and an hourly sweep.
Declined cards leaving entries open for ever HitPay keeps a declined request payable and sends no failure webhook, so unpaid entries are marked Failed after a time you choose and the old HitPay request is deleted.
Refunds outside Gravity Forms Full and partial refunds from the entry; refunds made in the HitPay dashboard are noted.
Confusing errors for tiny amounts A clear “below HitPay’s minimum payment amount” message instead of a generic error.

Value stack (features)

  1. HitPay checkout page: cards, PayNow, Apple Pay, Google Pay, GrabPay, ShopeePay, FPX, GCash, QRIS and more, or only the methods you list.
  2. Payment Add-On Framework: native payment status, transaction ID, notes and Sales report.
  3. Sandbox and Live API keys, checked with HitPay when you save.
  4. One Event Webhook with 5 events; the settings page shows the exact URL.
  5. Signed, verified webhooks and a per-entry lock, so an entry is never paid twice.
  6. Delayed notifications, posts and Post Payment Actions.
  7. Full and partial refunds from the entry, with a refundable balance.
  8. Card brand and last four in the entry notes (“Method: Card (Visa ending 4242)”).
  9. Unpaid entries marked Failed after a time you choose (default 60 minutes).
  10. Clear messages for amounts below HitPay’s minimum and methods not activated.
  11. E.164 phone numbers, billing address sent when mapped; HitPay SMS always off.
  12. Debug logging (API keys and salts are never logged); translation-ready, GPLv2 or later.

Supported payment methods (depends on your HitPay account and currency)

Cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and others) · Apple Pay · Google Pay · PayNow · GrabPay · ShopeePay · FPX · GCash · QRIS · and other HitPay methods.

The full illustrated setup guide is included with the download.

Named method: HitPay go-live

  1. Confirm HitPay has verified your business and turned on the methods you want.
  2. Install on staging with your HitPay sandbox API key and a sandbox Event Webhook for the staging URL.
  3. Test matrix: a card payment (check the delayed notification), a declined card (4000 0000 0000 0002), a partial and a full refund.
  4. In the live dashboard add an Event Webhook for the live site URL, paste the live API key and that webhook’s salt, choose Live, and watch the first entries and the log.

Honest scope & risk

PatSaTECH does not guarantee approval rates: card issuers and HitPay’s risk checks decide outcomes. Payment methods are enabled by HitPay on your account, and HitPay decides who can open a live account. When a card is declined, HitPay keeps the payment request open and sends no failure webhook, so the entry stays Processing until it is paid or the time limit marks it Failed. Testing so far used the HitPay sandbox (Singapore, SGD); live payments and wallets have not yet been paid with by PatSaTECH. A hosted checkout usually keeps your PCI scope at SAQ A, but confirm this with HitPay.

FAQ

Which countries can use it?

Businesses HitPay accepts, mainly in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. Anyone can test in the free sandbox; a live account needs HitPay’s verification.

Do I need to set up a webhook in HitPay?

Yes, one Event Webhook per site, under Developers → Event Webhooks, with the URL and 5 events shown in the add-on settings. Paste that webhook’s own salt into the add-on.

Can notifications wait for the payment?

Yes. In the feed tick “Send notifications only when payment is received”, or use the Payment Completed notification event. Posts and other add-on feeds can wait too.

What is the minimum amount?

0.30 in the form currency (HitPay’s limit). Smaller totals get a clear message.

What happens when a card is declined?

HitPay shows the decline on its page and the visitor can try again there. HitPay sends no failure webhook, so the entry stays Processing until it is paid or the time limit (default 60 minutes) marks it Failed.

Can I refund from Gravity Forms?

Yes. Full and partial refunds from the entry detail page.

Does it support subscriptions?

No. One-time payments (Products and Services feeds) only.
