Short description

For WooCommerce stores with an Omise (Opn Payments) account in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia or Japan: take cards, PromptPay, PayNow, TrueMoney, mobile banking, FPX, GrabPay and more in Omise’s secure payment window.

Every payment is confirmed with the Omise API before the order moves, with full and partial refunds from the order screen, automatic refunds of accidental double payments, the minimum amount checked before the order is created, unpaid orders cancelled on a timer, HPOS and both Blocks and classic checkout.

Not a fit? Subscriptions or recurring billing, or a business Omise does not serve need a different solution: see custom payment gateway integration.

Long description

Quick answer (for buyers)

If your business uses Omise (Opn Payments), you need a gateway that collects card details in Omise’s own payment window (Omise.js), creates the charge with the Omise Charges API and confirms every result with the API. PatSaTECH maintains the WooCommerce Omise Payment Gateway. Card data never touches your server, nothing in a redirect or webhook body is trusted, and every webhook is verified with the Omise-Signature header or by reading the event back from Omise before WooCommerce changes anything.

Who this is for

  • WooCommerce stores with an Omise account in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia or Japan. The test account is free.
  • Shops that want cards plus local methods (PromptPay, PayNow, TrueMoney, mobile banking, FPX, GrabPay…) from one checkout option.
  • Stores on modern WooCommerce: HPOS, the Cart/Checkout Blocks or the classic shortcode checkout.
  • Agencies that need a documented, test-mode-tested gateway they can hand over to a client.

Who should skip (disqualifiers)

  • Omise will not give your business a live account (Omise serves businesses in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan).
  • You need subscriptions or recurring payments. This plugin takes one-time payments.
  • You sell items below Omise’s minimum (THB 20, SGD 1, MYR 1, JPY 100).
  • You need to refund PromptPay or PayNow payments from WooCommerce: Omise cannot refund those methods, so they are refunded outside Omise.

Dream outcome

Customers pay with the card, QR code or app they already use, orders move to Processing on their own as soon as Omise confirms the charge, the order note shows how they paid (“Card (Visa ending 4242)”), and refunds are done from the WooCommerce order screen.

Obstacles → what this plugin addresses

Obstacle How this extension helps
Orders marked paid from a faked return or webhook Every charge is read back from the Omise API under a per-order lock; amount and currency are checked.
Orders stuck in Pending after the customer paid Webhooks, a check on the pay page and on return, and scheduled follow-up checks, so a missed webhook doesn’t leave a paid order unpaid.
Fake or replayed webhook calls Omise-Signature HMAC-SHA256 checked with your webhook secret (with a timestamp window), or the event read back from Omise when no secret is set.
Declined cards with confusing errors One clear message on the pay page (for example “insufficient funds”), the order Failed with the reason, card brand and last 4, and the customer can pay again at once.
QR codes paid after the customer gave up QR codes expire with the order’s time limit, and a late second payment is refunded automatically (or flagged when Omise cannot refund it).
Unpaid orders piling up The minimum is checked before the order is created, and unpaid orders are cancelled after a time you choose (default 60 minutes).
HPOS and Blocks checkout breaking older gateways Declared HPOS compatible; native Cart/Checkout Blocks integration plus classic checkout.

Value stack (features)

  1. Omise payment window (Omise.js): cards and the Omise methods you list (PromptPay, PayNow, TrueMoney, mobile banking, FPX, GrabPay, ShopeePay…), as enabled on your Omise account.
  2. Test and Live keys, checked with Omise when you save (shows the account country and funding currency).
  3. Webhooks verified with Omise-Signature or by event lookup; the webhook URL is also sent with each charge.
  4. Every charge re-read from the API under a per-order lock; amount and currency checked (mismatches go On hold).
  5. 3-D Secure and bank / wallet redirects handled, with a “payment being confirmed” notice while Omise finishes.
  6. PromptPay / PayNow QR page with the time it is valid until; it moves on by itself once paid.
  7. Full and partial refunds from the order screen; refunds made in the Omise dashboard are noted.
  8. Automatic refund of duplicate payments (can be turned off); PromptPay duplicates flagged for a manual refund.
  9. Card brand and last four in the order note (“Method: Card (Visa ending 4242)”).
  10. Minimum amount checked before the order is created (classic and Blocks), with a clear message.
  11. Unpaid orders cancelled after a time you choose (default 60 minutes); QR codes expire at the same time.
  12. HPOS compatible and Blocks + classic checkout.
  13. Debug logging in WooCommerce → Status → Logs (source wooomise); keys and webhook secrets are never logged.
  14. Translation-ready (.pot included), GPLv2 or later.

Installation summary

  2. In WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, upload the zip and activate WooCommerce Omise Payment Gateway (PatSaTECH).
  3. In the Omise dashboard (dashboard.omise.co, Test mode) open Keys and copy the public key and secret key.
  4. Under Webhooks set the endpoint to https://your-store.com/wc-api/patsatech_omise_webhook/ (copy the webhook secret if one is shown).
  5. In WooCommerce go to Settings → Payments → Omise (PatSaTECH), tick Enable, keep Test mode ticked, paste the keys and save.
  6. Place a test order with card 4242 4242 4242 4242 (any future expiry, any CVC).
  7. When Omise has verified your account, paste the live keys, set the live webhook endpoint and untick Test mode.

The full illustrated setup guide is included with the download.

Named method: Omise go-live

  1. Confirm Omise has verified your business and enabled the methods you want.
  2. Install on staging with your Omise test keys and the test webhook endpoint pointing to the staging URL.
  3. Test matrix: a card payment, a declined card (4111 1111 1114 0011), a PromptPay QR if you use it (Mark as paid in the test dashboard), a partial and a full refund, and the Blocks or classic checkout you use.
  4. Switch the dashboard to Live, set the live webhook endpoint, paste the live keys, untick Test mode, and watch the first orders and the wooomise log.

Honest scope & risk

PatSaTECH does not guarantee approval rates: card issuers and Omise’s risk checks decide outcomes. Payment methods are enabled by Omise on your account, and Omise decides who can open a live account. PromptPay and PayNow payments cannot be refunded or voided through Omise; refund those customers directly. Testing so far used Omise test mode (Thailand, THB); live payments, 3-D Secure and methods other than cards and PromptPay have not yet been paid with by PatSaTECH. Card details are entered in Omise’s payment window, which usually keeps your PCI scope small, but confirm this with Omise. Letting a license lapse while taking live payments risks missing updates when Omise or WooCommerce change.

FAQ

Which countries can use it?

Businesses Omise accepts in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan. Anyone can test with a free test account; a live account needs Omise’s verification.

Which payment methods will my customers see?

Cards, plus the Omise methods you list in the plugin (PromptPay, PayNow, TrueMoney, mobile banking, FPX, GrabPay…) that are enabled on your Omise account and match the order currency.

Do I need to set up a webhook in Omise?

Yes. Set the endpoint under Webhooks in the Omise dashboard (Test and Live separately) to the URL shown in the plugin settings. The plugin also sends its URL with each charge.

What is the minimum order amount?

THB 20, SGD 1, MYR 1 or JPY 100 (Omise’s limits). Smaller orders get a clear message before the order is created.

What happens when a card is declined?

The customer is back on the pay page with a clear message and can pay again straight away; the order is marked Failed with the reason until they do.

Can I refund from WooCommerce?

Yes. Full and partial refunds go through the Omise refund API, and refunds made in the Omise dashboard are noted on the order. PromptPay and PayNow payments cannot be refunded through Omise; the plugin says so.

Does it work with the WooCommerce block checkout?

Yes. It supports both the Cart/Checkout Blocks and the classic shortcode checkout, and is HPOS compatible.

Does it support subscriptions?

No. It takes one-time payments.

Can I test before going live?

Yes. Create a free Omise test account at dashboard.omise.co and use card 4242 4242 4242 4242.
